The lighthouse was built in 1855 and began providing lodging in 1938. It is still the only privately owned and maintained working lighthouse in the United States. The rustic suites and cottages are large and offer air conditioning and safes. There is an oceanside dining room and a pool side snack bar. A full-time children's director organizes activities and dinner for kids during the summer.

Breezy Knoll Cottages has four cottages all in close proximity to Cape activities. Each varies in size and price, but includes a full bathroom, a kitchen and cable TV. There are open year-round for weekly and monthly rentals. These are pet-free accommodations.
