The communications-themed exhibits illustrate a time when technical communications were in their infant stages. Aptucxet Trading Post Museum

The trading post building dates back to at least 1621, making it one of the earliest Pilgrim buildings. It is a significant site because it presents a context for Bourne's participation in historic events. The site has several other historical buildings as well as herb and wildflower gardens.

Home of the Orleans Historical Society, the Meeting House Museum is an excellent example of a Greek Revival structure and once functioned as the meeting house for the Universalist Church of Orleans. Today, visitors will find various exhibits about the history of Orleans, including historic photos, diaries, artwork, ships' logs and First Nations artifacts. The museum is open 10am to 1pm Thursday to Saturday during July and August, or by appointment.

Now operated by the great-grandson of the first owner the store has kept may of its original features and offers customers old fashioned sodas, sandwiches and and ice-cream cones. The homestead and museum are open on weekends June through August.

This museum is located on 80 acres of its own land, with three nature trails through different areas: woodland, salt marsh, and bay shore. The museum itself has two floors of exhibits about Cape Cod's indigenous plants and animals. There are aquarium displays, and exhibits on whales, birds, and snakes among others. Several of the displays are geared towards children, and there are educational summer workshops for kids as well. They also offer nature tours, canoe trips, and seal cruises in other Cape Cod areas.
