    Stony Brook Grist Mill
    This historic site was built on the foundation of a woolen mill circa 1873. The site also displays vintage milling equipment and a 100-year old loom. Admission is free and a delicious bag of corn is $2.

    Captain Bangs Hallet House Museum

    Built in the 1840s, this historic house and museum was once home to one of the Cape's wealthy sea captains and is the only Cape Cod home regularly open to visitors today. Located on Stawberry Lane Common, the house offers visitors a glimpse of 19th century family life. Open June through October, Thursdays through Sundays, tours available.

    Winslow Crocker House
    History buffs or antique lovers visiting Cape Cod can also visit the Winslow Crocker House, an 18th century home filled with notable pieces of antique furniture, rugs, pewter and ceramics. The house is owned and operated by Historic New England and is open to the public June through mid-October. Tours available.

    The Atwood-Higgins House was built in 1730 and may be the oldest house on the Lower Cape. Tours are available.

    Captain Penniman House
    The Captain Penniman House was built in 1867 by Penniman, a wealthy whaling captain. The house has since been refurbished, but still features many original items. Open houses and tours are offered by the National Seashore.

    Brooks Academy Museum

    This local museum is located within a former school building, that taught Harwich students from elementary to high school from 1844 to 1963. The Harwich Historical Society has occupied the building since 1988. Local history is preserved, collected and displayed at the museum.

    Kelley Chapel

    Kelley Chapel was built in 1873 as a non-sectarian chapel and donated to the Historical Society of Yarmouth in 1960. It is located off Route 6A approximately 100 yards down a nature trail. The chapel is not routinely open to the public but is available to hire for weddings or special functions.

    Quaker Meeting House Yarmouth
    Much of South Yarmouth's early development is attributed to its European settlers, many of them Quakers and the original Quaker Meeting House, built in 1809, can still be seen today. With the exception of electricity for heat and light and soft cushions added to the hard benches, the building and its services remain much as they have been for its 200 year history.

    Benjamin Nye Homestead

    This historic building dates back to 1685, and has been operated as a museum since 1972. Special demonstrations depicting colonial life include hearth side cooking, spinning and candle making. Open from mid-June to mid-October.

    Dexter Grist Mill
    This mill was built in 1964, and is still able to grind cornmeal. The 54-inch French Burl millstone is noteworthy. Fresh ground corn and mill tours are also available. Open year round, with limited hours during the winter.

    Hoxie House
    This may be the oldest house on Cape Cod, circa 1675. It was built for Reverend John Smith, his wife and their 13 children. Since the town purchased the structure in 1950, it has been completely restored and refurnished with period pieces. This historic home is open to visitors from June to mid-October.

    Chatham Marconi Maritime Center

    Erected in 1914, this is the only Marconi-built wireless station remaining. Once the station shifted focus to ships, it was the most active marine coastal radio station in the country from 1921 until 1993. The 13-acre site has ten original buildings, manicured grounds and plenty of interpretive and educational activities.

    Old Harbor Lifesaving Museum

    The Old Harbor Lifesaving Museum was originally a U.S. lifesaving station (from 1897 to 1944). The building stands today to display old lifesaving equipment and other information.
