This museum features beautifully landscaped gardens with an abundance of Dexter Rhododendrons. American art, history and antique automobiles are some of the museum's exhibits. An operating hand-carved carousel built in 1912 is another spectacular attraction. A multitude of lectures, workshops and activities are offered for families during season. Open year round, with extended hours from April to October.
Inside the Sandwich Glass Museum are 14 galleries containing more than 5,000 pieces of glass work, many of which depict Sandwich's contribution to the glass making industry over the years.
Thornton Burgess, renowned children's author, wrote more than 15,000 stories on Peter Rabbit and his animal friends. This museum features artifacts, work, personal and professional memorabilia related to his work, as well as a puppet theater that visitors can participate in, using the characters found in his books.
