Located at Town Cove Park, the Jonathan Young Windmill was built in south Orleans in the early 1700s. Originally built to grind grains, and despite having been relocated more than once, the windmill still retains its early machinery and parts. The public can enjoy guided tours during July and August.
The Coast Guard Rescue Boat 36500 is owned and maintained by the Orleans Historical Society and is moored at Rock Harbor during summer for public viewing. Built in 1946, this historic lifeboat became famous for its dramatic rescue of 32 men from the tanker ship "Pendleton" during a violent storm in 1952.
