Cotuit Museums
• A WorldWeb.com Travel Guide to Museums in Cotuit, Massachusetts.
This museum is named after Ralph Cahoon, an American contemporary primitive painter. It is located in the house and studio where he lived and worked. The building was completed in 1775, and
is a Georgian colonial style home. They have permanent art collections, including the paintings of Ralph and Martha Cahoon. They also host several special exhibitions each year.
The early 1800's Dottridge Homestead was owned by Samuel B. Dottridge, a carpenter who raised seven children in this typical Cape Cod-style house. The Museum is located directly behind the homestead and features a permanent collection of regional memorabilia, such as photographs, advertising signs, whaling artifacts, tools and ship models. The homestead and museum are open on weekends June through August.
